On May 2018, the PO "Fond Baroi Zindagii Behtar" held its first event in Tajikistan at the Ismaili Center of Dushanbe, focusing on “Innovative Approaches to Alleviate Poverty.” The gathering showcased th foundation's eight years of work through multimedia presentations and welcomed guests with volunteers dressed in various national costumes.
The chairman of Foundation for a Better Life USA, Mr. Jalal Sultan, opened the event by thanking local partners and highlighting FBL’s creative poverty-alleviation initiatives. This was followed by a report from Mr. Mubaraksho, Director of Foundation for a Better Life in Tajikistan, summarizing eight months of work in the Mountanious Area of Badakhshan Region.
Keynote speaker Mr. Khomaid Hamidov praised FBL’s efforts and emphasized the need for continued support to reduce poverty in Tajikistan, offering his assistance to the organization. Additional presentations by Komil and Ms. Mumtoz Mirzovali showcased successful dumpling, bakery, and tailoring projects, which received enthusiastic feedback from the audience.
A Q&A session allowed participants to inquire about expanding the public organization's work to other regions, educational support opportunities, and assistance for Afghan residents in Tajikistan. Some attendees also volunteered their services. Further remarks from Mr. Kishvar Abdulalishoev of Aga Khan Foundation in Tajikistan encouraged local responsibility in improving living conditions.
The event concluded with performances by singers Ms. Khujasta Mirza and Ms. Fotima Masharab, followed by refreshments and socializing.
